ARCHFRICART is an initiative of young architectural
scholars with the common passion or goal to infuse culture, architecture and
art into design on a general scale. These young architect through research have
identified indigenous related problems as regard to the face of architecture,
art and the neglect of culture and indigenous building materials into the
design of our environment and hence came up with these initiative to REDEFINE and give IDENTITY to our conscious environment through our architecture, art
in conjunction with the fusion of African element in the design process.
ARCHFRICART brings to the table a platform for
professionals, art and architecture scholars and their lovers to interact
educate and get inspired by the initiative as fore mentioned.
ARCHFRICART also aims to encourage the use of
indigenous materials for construction of buildings, art crafting, enriching of
interior design spaces with aesthetic and utilitarian indigenous art and craft.
This initiative is aimed at achieving the general reduction of cost for
building construction, promotion of cultural value and to achieve
environmentally friendly and sustainable design.
In a nutshell ARCHFRICART is
a group of young architecture graduates determined to give Nigerian
architecture a face, style and poise in Africa and the world at large. We believe that
good design with the perfect blend of art in architecture through elements of African
symbolism should solve architectural problems and be aesthetically pleasing.
This is the fusion of functionality and
aesthetics with consciousness to the African social environment, the fusion of culture,
values and sustainability, the fusion of indigenous material and creativity and
the fusion of ART AND ARCHITECTURE to
protect the future of Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
